Sendy Audio Introduces Kylin DAC / Headphone Amplifier

Sendy Audio has announced the Kylin, a high-resolution DAC and headphone amplifier designed for desktop audio systems. The unit was first previewed at CanJam NYC 2025, where it drew attention for its classic design and broad connectivity. Following strong interest, Sendy Audio has now released the Kylin as a standalone product.

The Kylin combines digital decoding and headphone amplification in a single chassis. At its core is an XMOS USB interface paired with the ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chip, supporting high-resolution playback including native DSD512. According to Sendy Audio, the design aims to deliver transparent and detailed playback while maintaining stable, low-jitter signal transmission.

For headphone amplification, the Kylin uses a dedicated Class A output stage built around matched Hitachi B649 / D669 transistors. The analogue section also incorporates dual Burr-Brown OPA604 op-amps, along with WIMA and Nichicon capacitors, which together form the basis of the amplifier’s power delivery and signal path.

The unit provides three headphone outputs, including 4-pin XLR balanced, 4.4mm balanced, and 6.35mm single-ended connections. A selectable gain switch allows users to match the amplifier to different headphones, while an APLS volume potentiometer handles level control. Sendy Audio also states that the amplifier can automatically adjust output behaviour depending on headphone impedance.

Connectivity includes multiple analogue and digital inputs and outputs, allowing the Kylin to integrate into a wider audio setup. The internal power supply uses a servo-regulated design intended to minimise electrical noise during operation.

The Kylin is housed in a precision aluminium chassis designed for durability and heat management, maintaining a minimalist desktop appearance.

The Sendy Audio Kylin is available now from selected retailers with a retail price of $1499 / £1499.
