In this article, I review the DUNU DK3001BD in-ears. The DK3001BD is a 9-driver tribrid IEM with 1 dynamic, 4 balanced armatures and 4 planar units. It’s priced at 499 USD.
The ‘Brain Dance’ is the first IEM from DUNU’s DK series since the excellent (and underrated) DK3001 Pro I reviewed in 2020. And because the DK models have been my favourites from the DUNU stables, I was excited to check out this interesting new release.

Design
DUNU has consistently been a leader in IEM build quality, and the DK3001BD exemplifies their world-class craftsmanship. The futuristic cyberpunk aesthetic might be divisive among enthusiasts but I think it looks amazing.

The modular stock cable is impressive too. It has a light grey fabric sheath on the lower part and grey twisted wires above the Y-split. The cable might seem a bit bulky for some people but it suits the aesthetic perfectly and it handles really well.
Verdict
The DUNU DK3001 has a striking and iconic design, coupled with world-class build quality. When it comes to audio quality, it has that in spades too. The detail retrieval, instrument separation and imaging are all outstanding but the lack of mid-bass impact and subsequent analytical sound signature won’t appeal to everyone.
