Sendy Audio Launches Apollo PRO Planar Magnetic Headphones

Sendy Audio has announced the Apollo PRO, a new open-back planar magnetic headphone aimed at listeners looking for a combination of detail, comfort, and premium build quality.

Set to launch on June 2nd, the Apollo PRO will be available through Amazon and selected retailers worldwide, priced at £449 / $449 / €499.

At the heart of the headphone is a custom 78mm planar magnetic driver featuring an ultra-thin nano-scale composite diaphragm measuring less than 800 nanometres thick. According to Sendy Audio, the design is intended to improve speed, clarity, and resolution while delivering the spacious presentation that planar magnetic headphones are known for.

The Apollo PRO also incorporates the company’s Electron Beam Evaporation Deposition technology, which applies aluminium circuitry directly onto the diaphragm surface. Sendy says this process helps improve vibration control and frequency consistency, contributing to better layering and overall refinement.

One of the more notable aspects of the Apollo PRO is its weight. At 354g, it is relatively light for a full-size planar magnetic headphone, with Sendy positioning it as a model suitable for extended listening sessions.

The open-back design combines zebrawood earcups with a distinctive sunburst-pattern metal mesh grille. Comfort features include breathable velvet ear pads and a lamb leather headband, both intended to reduce heat build-up during longer listening sessions. The frame itself uses CNC-machined aviation-grade aluminium components along with an adjustable suspension system designed to provide a secure fit.

Connectivity is handled through a detachable balanced cable that combines Furukawa OFC, silver-plated copper, and enamelled gold-plated copper conductors. The cable also incorporates graphene-reinforced shielding, which Sendy says helps reduce interference and maintain signal integrity.

In the box, users will find a 4.4mm balanced cable as standard, along with 3.5mm and 6.35mm adapters for compatibility with a wide range of portable and desktop audio gear.
