OneOdio Focus A10 design

Design

The OneOdio Focus A10 boasts a sleek and modern design that features classic OneOdio elements such as concentric rings on the earcups and a foldable design. The headphones are built with a combination of plastic and lightweight aluminium for a sturdy and durable build. Additionally, the headband has soft padding to provide pressure relief while the earpads are soft and plush, making them comfortable for long listening sessions.

The earcups rotate 90 degrees, which makes them convenient to wear around your neck when not in use. The ANC mode button and USB-C charging port are located on the left earcup, while the power button, playback controls, and a 3.5mm jack for the optional audio cable are located on the right earcup.

Although the Focus A10 is comfortable to wear, it may cause discomfort if you wear glasses for an extended period. Nonetheless, the overall build quality is impressive for a budget headphone.

In conclusion, the OneOdio Focus A10 wireless headphones offer a modern design, sturdy build quality, and comfortable earpads. With the added convenience of foldable earcups and a rotating design, these headphones are an excellent choice for those who value both style and functionality.

Power and playback control buttons

Battery Life

One of the A10’s strengths is its impressive battery life. It provides up to 40 hours of playback time with ANC on. With ANC off, the time increases to 50 hours. If just using ANC, the A10 lasts up to 62 hours. Moreover, the Focus A10 supports quick charge and you can get up to 2 hours of playback time from a 5-minute charge.

ANC

The ANC mode of A10 is highly effective in reducing noise, particularly constant low-frequency noises like air conditioners and engines. Its Transparency mode is also impressive, enabling you to stay aware of your surroundings while enjoying your audio experience.

Call, Video and Gaming Performance

The microphone quality on the OneOdio Focus A10 is great. It’s clear and plenty loud enough for other people to hear what you’re saying.

The A10 enhances the video watching experience. I was pleased to discover that there were no sync issues between video and audio while enjoying YouTube videos or movies on my phone. Furthermore, the A10 delivers excellent gaming performance with minimal latency, even when playing fast-paced online games.

Sound

The OneOdio Focus A10 headphones offer a balanced sound signature that is on the warmer side of neutral. The note size is slightly thicker, which gives the sound a rich and full-bodied character. While the bass isn’t boosted to extreme levels, it has a satisfying thickness and a controlled sub-bass rumble. Overall, the A10 delivers a smooth and enjoyable listening experience, making it suitable for a wide variety of music genres.

Moving on to the midrange, the A10’s presentation is reasonably forward and engaging. However, due to its thicker sound, the midrange is fairly intimate, so don’t expect a lot of spaciousness. Nonetheless, vocals sound clear and have a rich tone, and the overall resolution is pretty good. The A10 is well-suited for genres such as pop, rock, and hip-hop, where the emphasis is on vocals and instrumentation.

If you’re used to wireless headphones, you won’t be surprised to learn that the A10’s treble is laid-back and relaxed. This makes them ideal for long listening sessions without causing ear fatigue. However, this also means that the sound isn’t as detailed as more neutral or brighter headphones. The A10’s sound signature is perfect for genres where a relaxed and smooth treble presentation is preferred.

Overall, the A10 is an excellent choice for those who prioritize comfort and smooth sound over ultimate detail and accuracy. There’s ample bass without being overpowering, plenty of midrange forwardness and a clear smooth treble.

Comparisons

Edifier W820NB

The W820NB (review here) and Focus A10 headphones have a lot in common when it comes to their features and sound signature. However, the A10’s build quality feels more premium, thanks to its rotating earcups and a compact folding design that makes it easier to store and transport. These features make the A10 an excellent option for those who value portability and convenience.

While the W820NB supports the Edifier mobile app, the app doesn’t add much to the overall user experience, apart from displaying the battery level. On the other hand, the OneOdio A10 comes with a handy storage case that is not provided with the W820NB. The case helps protect the headphones during storage and transportation, making it a useful accessory for those who are always on the go.

When it comes to audio quality, the Edifier has a little more definition and control in the bass, while the A10 comes across as slightly warmer in tone. Nonetheless, both headphones offer similar audio quality and technical performance. Therefore, the choice between the two ultimately comes down to personal preference.

In conclusion, both headphones are excellent options for those looking for wireless headphones with similar features and sound signatures. The Edifier is slightly cheaper, but its build quality is inferior to the A10, and it doesn’t come with a carrying case.

Verdict

In conclusion, the OneOdio Focus A10 wireless headphones offer a balanced sound signature with a warm and engaging midrange, controlled sub-bass, and relaxed treble. The headphones have a premium build quality, which includes rotating earcups and a compact folding design for easy storage and transportation.

Additionally, the A10 comes with a handy carrying case that provides extra protection during transit. These features, combined with their reasonable price point, make the OneOdio Focus A10 wireless headphones an excellent choice for those who value both sound quality and convenience.
