MUSE HiFi is preparing to launch a rather unusual new desktop DAC/AMP called the Muse HiFi Muse 300, and on paper at least, it looks like one of the more ambitious desktop audio products we’ve seen in a while. According to the company, the Muse 300 will be the world’s first desktop DAC/AMP with its own dedicated operating system.
Instead of relying on the basic menu systems and often sluggish interfaces found on many desktop audio devices, MUSE HiFi says it has developed a custom in-house OS focused on smoother navigation, better responsiveness, and more modern playback capabilities. The company claims the system was built from scratch specifically for high-fidelity audio processing and complex operations.

One of the standout features is the large 5-inch high-definition display. Beyond simply showing playback information, the screen is designed to be a central part of the user experience, with colourful visuals and multiple interface layouts.
The Muse 300 will ship with three different UI themes as well. Users can switch between a futuristic Cyberpunk mode with neon-inspired visuals, a cleaner Minimalistic theme for a more understated look, and an anime-inspired ACG Style interface with brighter, more playful graphics. It’s an unusual feature for a DAC/AMP, but one that could appeal to users who want their desktop setup to feel a bit more personal.
In terms of hardware, the Muse 300 is also set to feature balanced headphone output, balanced XLR line outputs, and Bluetooth connectivity, positioning it as a fairly modern all-in-one desktop solution for both headphone and speaker setups.

There’s still no official release date or full specification sheet yet, but MUSE HiFi says more information on the Muse 300 is coming soon.
