In this article, I’m reviewing the Edifier X5 Pro TWS earbuds. The X5 Pro features Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and supports fast charging. It’s priced at $39.

Design
The Edifier X5 Pro earbuds feature a stem design and come in black or ivory colour. They have a solid build quality and are both comfortable and lightweight. I wish there were some larger eartips included though – I had to use some of my own eartips to get a proper seal.
When it comes to features, X5 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.3, ANC, an IPX55 dust and splash rating and quick charging. They deliver around 5 hours of non-stop playback with ANC on and 17 hours with the charging case. With ANC off, the playtime extends to 7 hours for the earbuds and up to 24 hours with the charging case. A quick 15-minute charge yields an hour of playback time.
The ANC works well for a budget TWS and it effectively cuts out low-frequency and droning sounds such as engines and air conditioners. There’s an ambient mode too, which lets you hear more of your environment.
There’s also app support via the Edifier Connex software which lets you choose from 4 preset EQ settings, cycle ANC modes and turn game mode on or off.
Sound
The Edifier X5 Pro comes with the classic Edifier house sound, meaning it’s warm yet clear and vibrant. It has an enhanced but not overpowering bass response. Lows are punchy and have ample body. The midrange is warm and engaging. Vocals and instruments have good clarity and separation.
X5 Pro’s treble is laid-back but delivers ample energy and brightness to maintain tonal balance. It’s not the most detailed or precise treble but rather one that is tuned for comfort and fatigue-free listening. The overall resolution is good and you can use the present EQs to customize the sound to your preference.
Verdict
The Edifier X5 Pro delivers big on audio quality and features at a low price. If you’re looking for a good TWS earbud on a budget, grab yourself some X5 Pro and you won’t be disappointed.
