Final has announced the DX4000CL, a new closed-back headphone positioned between the company’s DX3000CL and flagship DX6000CL models. The DX4000CL introduces a newly developed dynamic driver and revised internal acoustic design aimed at improving openness and resolution while maintaining the tonal balance associated with the DX series.

According to Final, the DX line was created to move away from the heavy bass emphasis and restricted staging commonly linked to closed-back headphones. The DX4000CL continues this approach with a tuning that prioritises control and clarity across the frequency range. Final describes the sound as neutral and natural, with an emphasis on vocal presence, realistic instrument timbre and the retrieval of fine detail. The company also claims the headphone delivers a wider and more spacious presentation than is typical for a closed-back design.
At the centre of the DX4000CL is a new 40mm dynamic driver using a paper-carbon composite diaphragm. The driver is paired with a reworked internal structure intended to regulate airflow and suppress unwanted resonance. Final says this improves low-frequency accuracy and helps complex passages remain clearly separated. The headphone is supplied with a silver-coated cable terminated in 4.4mm, with a 4.4mm to 6.3mm adapter included.
The DX4000CL is scheduled to go on sale from selected retailers on 26 February 2026, with a recommended price of £949 / $999 / €999.
