Design
The Arylic B50 has a clean, uncluttered aesthetic. There’s a power switch and volume knob on the front panel with a variety of LEDs in between to display the current input source. All of the LEDs has a distinct colour, making it easy to determine which input you have selected at a distance.
The rear panel has a lot of stuff going on, starting with 2 Bluetooth antenna mounts. Then there are the speaker binding posts, along with a subwoofer output. The rest is made up of various inputs, including Phono, Line, Optical, HDMI Arc, USB Disc and USB-C. Lastly, there’s a small Reset button that’s used to reset the Bluetooth connection.

Functionality
The B50 not only receives Bluetooth but it can transmit Bluetooth to up to 2 devices. However, it cannot receive and transmit at the same time, so in order to transmit to Bluetooth headphones or speakers, you’ll need to use one of the many physical input sources. The Qualcom QCC3040 handles Hi-Res wireless audio codecs, including aptX, aptX-adaptive, aptX-HD and aptX-Low Latency.
Setting up the B50 is easy and it was a breeze connecting it to my Android phone. The input can be selected by pushing the volume knob, via the remote or via the Go Control app. Playback controls can be used with the remote, your smartphone or the Go Control app.

Sound
In its default setting, the Arylic B50 has a neutral but full-bodied sound. However, there are 5 EQ presets available (Classic, Pop, Jazz, Rock and Vocal) and even a custom EQ. The B50 comes with Bass, midrange and treble tone controls too. And as if that wasn’t enough, the Go Control app lets you adjust the crossover frequency and sub-bass intensity too.
For the setup in my small room, I hooked the B50 up to my NHT C3 speakers and tested some streaming Bluetooth and Hi-Res FLAC files from a USB drive. There was plenty of power available for this system and the B50 provided clear, consistent audio from both sources.
I was quite happy with the Flat default sound settings, especially after adding my subwoofer to the chain. Arylic seems to understand the importance of subwoofer support so I was super happy to see the B50 has it.
I’d say this little amp sounds great for the price, competing with other budget amps from the likes of Fosi Audio and AIYIMA but it’s so much more versatile and has a better subwoofer out implementation.
The tone controls work in real-time so dialling in your ideal settings is a breeze using the app or the remote. Want fuller mids? Go for it. Want some extra treble zing? Done. It’s as simple as pressing a button.
Everything sounds just as it should. The staging and imaging are precise and the detail and nuances are intact. The B50 turned out to be a perfect match for my specific speakers and room setup.

Verdict
It’s difficult to find any flaws with the Arylic B50. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, is solidly built, comes with a remote and oozes with versatility. All this for $139 makes this one a no-brainer. It’s an easy recommendation and gets the our gold award.
